August Saturday. August 9, 8:30 a.m. Biking the Dr. Jim Glassner Memorial Bike Trail on Low Traveled Scenic roads within the IAT Corridor. This loop is about 16 miles and midpoint will be in Hartman Creek State Park for a rest stop. Wear a helmet and bring a water bottle. From Stevens Point/Plover, go east HWY 54 about 15 miles, south (right) on CTY “A” 3 miles, turn west (right) Asbury Drive, the road to Camp Helen Brachman. This camp is located on the north side of Pickerel Lake. Leaders: Dean & Loretta Klingenberg, 715-824-5475. CLICK HERE FOR MAP Friday, August 22, 6:00 p.m. “Glaciated Marl Lake & Aquatic Plants”. Lake Elaine at Glacier Hollow in Nelsonville. Feel the marl; find out about the origin of marl, some history of Glacier Hollow (see glacierhollow.com) and the plants associated with marl lakes. Take HWY 10 East to HWY 161 (old CTY “SS”); left onto HWY 161 to CTY “SS” (1.5 miles); right onto CTY “SS” toward Nelsonville (1.5 miles).
